California Love - Aliso Beach - Tide Pools - Sunset - Love my hoods
A girl's got to eat: When you're hungry and up in the AM in DTLA, grab a taco from one of the hot dog stands. They're pretty good, pretty dirty, and won't kill you! For dinner, we've been enjoying a Korean spot in Koreatown called Jae Bo Du. Don't worry, their menu comes in English and Korean. Many joints don't! They have three menu options available for two parties or more. For $100 you can feed up to four people. It comes with a set tray of seafood that you cook yourself. Don't forget to order some Korean soju and take two shots before the eating begins. Everything will taste a lot better after.
Getting Work Done:
Getting any kind of work done means eating good, enjoying life, and taking care of business in a timely manner. Saturday morning, I set off to find the final fabrics for the collection. This collection wouldn't be possible without Los Angeles's fabric district. I can only advise that if anyone wanted to get involved with fashion, come to LA. Be inspired. Moddame's inspirations come from my surroundings, southern California, the people, the food, and the life I'm choosing to live.
Stopping by the studio: Something about the tall buildings, being surrounded by other inspirational people, and having one thought in our heart: succeeding.
The last finds for the Fall Collection
Black and white, can't go wrong with it.

Prop Finds: The look book shoot is in two weeks and we're running out of time. We needed the best places for affordable and unique finds. Thrift stores and swamp meats were where we headed. Luckily, our first stop at the Golden West College swamp meat was enough shopping for the day. Excited to see what we'll do with these finds.
Old, used and abused. Aren't we lovely?
Now that most of the collection is completed, everyday is another day to prepare patterns for marking, grading, and cutting. The budget is very tight so I'm learning how to grade patterns again. Since I've been in LA, I've moved homes 4-5 times and had to leave a lot of the past behind, including text books I wished I hadn't. Thank God for youtube and google! Tonight, the concept and layout of the loft we're using for the photo shoot is being completed. The model, MUA, and photographer are almost finalized for the shoot. I keep reminding myself: Go get it Hustla!
